Kona Fire Mountain Mountain Bike – 2001 Model
Here is a picture of the 2001 model year Kona Fire Mountain mountain bike that my wife has been riding for the last couple of years. I purchased the original stock bike on eBay. I have upgraded every part on the bike except for the Kona Control stem. As you can see from the pictures, the 2001 Fire Mountain came in Bright Gold Metallic. I think the gold color looks better that a plain yellow any day.
My wife rides the bike and she is okay with the color. The bike is set up as 3×8. The frame material is 6061 aluminum and is 16″ from center of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube. The weight of the bike is around 25 pounds. I think the stock bike weighed 28 – 30 pounds.
Here are some of the components on the Kona Fire Mountain 2001.
